Appleseed: Ex-Machina

John Woo and Shinji Aramaki merge talents to create a futuristic thriller adapted from the popular Japanese manga series by Shirow Masamune: Appleseed: Ex Machina.

Special Forces soldiers and lovers Deunan and the 25% human cyborg Brireos are joined by the engineered human, or bioroid, Tereus. But their relationship is complicated because Tereus was created from Brireos' DNA--and his emotions have not been suppressed as is usual for bioroids. Now, when a stealth attack of zealots turns the nation-city of Olympus into a perilous war zone, these three unique heroes must battle a conspiracy to enslave mankind even as they struggle with their own emotions.
